Jeannie Vanderburg

Jeannie got her start knocking doors for candidates and sitting in on strategy sessions in northwest Denver. She studied Political Science at the University of Colorado and Middle Eastern Policy at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She joined The Capstone Group as an intern right out of college.

Through her time at The Capstone Group, Jeannie has built a reputation as a collaborative partner committed to bipartisan policy work. She prioritizes representing a diverse set of clients to build expertise in a wide range of issues facing the state. Jeannie has achieved several notable successes on behalf of her clients. As it relates to the state budget, she pushed for additional funding for First Generation and Pell eligible higher education students, secured state funding to ensure the sustainability of History Colorado, and increased funding for Colorado's nonprofit security grant program. She has built deep expertise in tax credit policy through the creation and expansion of several tax credits, including securing a ten-year reauthorization of the Commercial Historic Preservation Tax Credit and increasing the Conservation Easement Tax Credit to $50 million annually through 2036.

Jeannie has spearheaded large-scale proactive legislative initiatives in behavioral health, making Colorado the sixth state in the nation to grant psychologists prescriptive authority, ensuring insurance carriers can't deny care based on proprietary medical necessity determination standards, and expanding Colorado's behavioral health workforce statewide. She has worked in partnership with other members of the business community to make sure that Colorado continues to cultivate a business-friendly environment while building up the infrastructure needed to attract businesses to Colorado. Jeannie has also worked with the tech sector to ensure AI regulation in Colorado balances consumer protection with continued innovation in the tech industry.

Jeannie graduated from Impact Denver's Fall 2018 class, and was promoted to partner in January 2023. In January 2026, she was recognized as Lobbyist of the Year by the Colorado Chamber of Commerce.
